Untitled (There is no time without man)
video installation with 3 loop projections, colour, 4:3, stereo, 21’
2006
The video installation shows a sequence of stationary shots, projected simultaneously. From a phenomenological approach, the images follow the natural course of different events. The recorded time is not time doubled. It strongly disrupts real time, but also gives it new qualities; it emphasises her rhythm, and her ever self-organising structure. Through perceiving the work we find ourselves in relation to the continuity of the moving image. From here the image no longer is, but becomes a perception that unfolds and materialises inside us. The moment lies in an endless shift. In this way the singularity of the image has changed into an analogous substance, reflecting our gaze.
